I'm legally parked and buses dont seem to have a problem dealing with their fares with space provided.
Whats your take on what would cause this type of damage? http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ps38a49fd1.jpg

,. The police report has it written down as a hit and run so going after the city is pointless as i have no proof just speculation.
As a side note there were 5 bottles of alcohol on the passengers seat that was bought as Xmas gifts, they were untouched which IMO rules out a break and enter type of scenario.
It was a hit and run without a doubt. Looking at the height it was most likely the rear corner of a flat bed tow truck. But life goes on.
The way your car door was "peeled" makes me think you could be right.
Have you checked any of the surrounding buildings, traffic lights, etc., to see if they have cameras? They could have caught something. Let the police and your insurance company know which ones may have had your car (or even a cross street) in view.
That's one hefty bump, Jambo . . . but probably a little high for a snow plow.
It has been mega-years since I've lived in Snow / Cold Country but I do remember some Cities and Towns having ordinances restricting street parking before, during and after a snowstorm.
If the damage is determined to be caused by a Snow Removal Vehicle, I sure hope your area does not have one of those obscure ordinances.
Yes this might be snow$hi%. They have a tough job at hand but they shouldn't disappear after hitting a car like that or whoever was for that matter. Yes please check buildings nearby maybe there is a clue somewhere. I hope they catch whoever did this. Good luck.

We live in a big city, street parking is the only option, we practice alternate sides of the street parking when snow removal operations are underway and at $170 a ticket for parking on the wrong side of the road one becomes extra diligent about making sure you are parked on the correct side of the street., however when the snow is coming down large plows ply the streets to make them passable.
Many of the snow plows have that extra side wing blade. (I wonder ) https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3...k/IMG_1828.JPG
Jambo, couple questions. Are there any foreign paint marks or chips in the damaged areas? Also, is there any street material or snow that was thrown inside the vehicle? If you find pieces of asphalt or salt in areas where they normally would not be (like on the dash) that would be evidence of a plow, I imagine any snow that was thrown in has now likely melted.
