I had my car in for service at the dealer today so I strolled around the lot and the showroom looking at all of the new and used cars for sale when I came across this one:
It was certainly a beautiful piece of machinery. It reminded me a little of the Batmobile or a Transformer, but still....
$500,000 for a pre-owned car??
I don't think so.
But then again...
I did see a 2011 Ferrari for only (lol) $149,900 that both my wife and I agreed was absolutely gorgeous and a car that we could definitely picture ourselves tooling around South Beach in.
You can find used Testarossa's for under $50k. Ran into this creepy guy years ago who was rocking one, he wore leather pants and his hair was permanently slicked back...like a bad episode of Miami Vice...but, he did have a 12 cylinder Ferrari as his "nice weather" car....not bad.
Never buy another man's sports car. The thing was probably driven like a bat out of hell, so I probably wouldn't buy it. Would I buy one new, drive like a bat out of hell and pawn it off on someone else, maybe.
Only 20k under msrp? not familiar with depreciation rates on half-mil cars, but that doesn't seem like enough off for a pre-owned.
I say offer em 450k and see what they say.
No, but I may spend $100,000 on a 1971 Plymouth Hemicuda if I had millions of dollars in my bank.
