It seems the designers creating the headlights and tail lights of new cars have been doing some LSD or worse. Some of these cars are lit up like a Christmas Tree driving down the damn road.
New Tahoes have the ugly bracket lights with the blinkers inside take the cake. So stupid looking

Could you clarify, are you complaining about the styling or the type of lights?
I couldn't agree more, those new led lights that surround the headlight area are horrible. Yes, they might make the car more easily seen, but they are very distracting to other drivers. They are also ugly.
That too Drover
It may look all sleek, elegant, and cool, but at what cost to safety
Safety regulations are actually the reason for most of them. DRLs, HIDs, LEDs, etc all have roots in safety regulations. LED taillights light up faster than incandecents, giving a few moments more warning to the dfrivers behind when braking. They are brighter, so you notice them better and from farther away. HIDs give better light so you can see obstacles in front of you better, for earlier warning, and of course DRLs let you be seen in specific daylight situations, and using LED strips for that instead of the main headlights uses less energy and lasts longer (early headlight based DRLs often burned out quickly)

Don
And then they turn off when the blinker is on so that alone shows they acknowledge there's a problem.
Our new cars headlights are so bright I actually feel like I am doing a civic disservice when I am out at night.
I really don't need to see three miles into the distance at the cost of others corneas.
The high beams look like divine intervention.
