Everybody around here wants a pick-up truck and dealers here even getting big money for junk and worn out vehicles that need too be in junk yard.

News, Pickups, SUVs and crossovers are the most in-demand new vehicles in America right now, and it looks like that will be the case when they hit the used car market in five years.

The top 10 vehicles on Kelly Blue Book’s annual Best Resale Value Awards list are all trucks and crossovers, while all-wheel-drive specialist Subaru was named the top brand overall. Lexus was number one among luxury brands for the fourth straight year.

Good thing we have a Subaru and Lexus in our garage

But yeah, it's kind of like KBB is setting the resale value of these cars by announcing that these specific cars have the highest resale value. Put a Dodge there instead of Toyota and 3-4 years down the road it will come to fruition

How can a brand new vehicle that was just released with no resale value history to speak be named one of the top ten resale values? IE Colorado and Canyon.

Much of that is based on the residual value projections set by ALG during all their analysis. https://www.alg.com/products/residual-values/

This is a main reason many of us don't care about resale as we keep them in excess of 300k miles.
