I had an '03 Intrepid I bought used with 7k miles. I traded in with 231k miles when it was about 9 yrs old. Original drivetrain. I believe synthetic oil and Mopar brand fluids were the key. I sent it in for 1 warranty repair. The only moderate repair I did myself was to change out a coolant pipe at around 80k. I just kept it clean and maintained, and it ran like a top and never left me stranded. Huge car that felt like a midsize and I really really wish they still made them.
I currently have an '11 Journey but it's a mom's car for 90% neighborhood type driving. Bought it new (paid cash) when they were discounting them bigtime to win customers. It's has the 4cyl/4spd but loaded with the V6 options. I sent it in once to have the computer flashed once I found out about a TSB, since all of that brand new interior stuff was in infancy. Second time was for warranty repair I had because the CD player died. I've tried to find problems documented online with this drivetrain but can't. Solid & comfortable vehicle, works great as a cheap & simple workhorse. It's a niche vehicle that no one seems to know how to categorize.
I must part of the uneducated, ignorant, unwashed masses...
but I've owned a Toyota, so I guess that saves me?
Actually there isn't a Chrysler vehicle that interests me nowadays at all except for the '14+ Durango but I have yet to test drive it.
I bought a used 2012 Chrysler 300 srt8 a few weeks ago. This is my first Chrysler car and I never thought I would ever be driving a car from Chrysler. However, I have always been a fan of the srt cars from Chrysler/dodge. I absolute love this car so far, it is a blast to drive with plenty power on tap. The fit and finish seem pretty well put together and have just about anything you can imagine as far as creature comfort. They did a great job with this one and I'm very impressed so far. The car only had 13,000 miles on it and was taken very good care of . The previous owner traded it in on a Hellcat challenger. I drove it down to Charleston on Saturday and it rides and handles so nice out on the open road. Driving it around town does it little justice, but out on the highway this thing is at home.
To me, one of the best looking Chrysler cars of the recent past was the 300M. Imagine taking a mint condition 300M and dropping in today's Chrysler 200 3.6L V6 & transmission along with upgraded brakes and tires. I feel that today's Chrysler 200 is the child of the 300M. Both have a nice sporty aerodynamic body, upstyle interior, and sporty handling. I still see some Chrysler 300M cars around town and they still look good today.
