Have a reputable auto shop in Jackson do a pre-purchase inspection...it would be worth the $$$.

Hmmm. Usually they ask you to send money before shipping a car. If you GET the car and thenpay for it, then it's hard to say it's a scam.... But it still could be.

But yeah, I've bought numerous cars from several states away. Usually I ask for a new picture of a specific part or specific angle, so I know they have the car, then I go see it (though i bought off Ebay from a wholesaler 5 states away and paid the deposit before going up to get the car).

Did you find it on EBay or a classifieds site like craigslist?
If it's not on Ebay, then run away.

eBay offers some sort of escrow program for vehicle purchases, that's probably what the seller is talking about.

This is 100% SCAM!

ebay vehicle purchase protection program is not an escrow service or a shipping service.

Read about the scam here:

Best off just flying out there (or drive), check out the car and drive it (or ship it) back. It might not be a scam but it's better to be safe than sorry imo.
