My dad's orange Corvette convertible (probably 1970, maybe 1971). This car is probably the reason for my life-long love affair with convertibles.

My dad's 65 Mustang fastback. White with blue interior, 289, AC and wire hubcaps. He bought it 3 days after I was born since he needed a "family car" to replace the bugeye Sprite he owned. Once I was old enough to clean it, I would wash it and vacuum the interior at least once a month. He sold it in 76 with a blown motor, slipping trans, no AC, broken radio, etc for $250. That was a sad day for me once I found out it was gone.

Probably the most distinct one I remember was my dad's 1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary with a white interior. It had an unmistakable smell of vinyl and leather that I can still remember, as well as the ball shifter and all the gauges on the center console. He still has it, but it hasn't been driven in over 20 years.

I also have memories of my dad's 1986 Cutlass Supreme. Dark blue with a blue velour interior, pillowy seats, and the little opera windows. I think it was a Brougham, but it had the stock Oldsmobile rally wheels. Everything about that car was so different from modern cars, and ever since I've always had a thing for GM G-bodies.

ah, those were the days....styling and classics...

My first vehicle? AFTER a 1978 Pinto hand me down, I bought myself a brand new red 83 GMC S-15 High Sierra {same as chevy S-10} one of the first of that model's productions.

*sigh*

I remember my dad had bought a new '62 Lincoln, black with the suicide doors. I thought we were rich. On saturdays I would go with my parents to the local supermarket to get groceries. The owner of the market had a new Chrysler. Him and my dad would talk about cars. I remember standing in the store listening the them talk, this man who owned the store, would grab a whole handful of candy and hand it to me.
