I spent a lot less $$ than you but here you go.
-- 197x Plymouth Duster that lasted a short period of time - first car.
-- 197x Chevy Chevette - new worst car I ever owned
-- 197x Buick Skylark - pretty bad car
-- 1979 Dodge Colt (Mitsubishi with an extra shifter that dropped the gear by 1/2 gear)
-- 1982 Dodge Challenger (new and Mitsubishi engine - lasted until my mom asked me
when I was going to get rid of it
- put on 151 or 161k miles on it and it was still
mechanically sound). I actually sold it. It was still running fine.
-- 1992 or 93 Chevy Prizm (new and purchased only because it evolved as a joint venture of Chevy
and Toyota. It had been called the Chevy Nova. The Nova was fine but the Prizm was not.)
-- 1996 used Subaru Legacy sedan
-- partner got the 1996 Subaru Impreza Outback - new that died when I creamed it at 151k miles
-- 2004 Subaru Impreza (new and the seats were horrible)
-- partner replaced the baby Outback with a 2003 GMC Sonoma 3 door truck. She replaced it with:
-- 1999 Honda CRV and it was horrible. She got rid of it within a year and replaced it with
-- 2010 Toyota RAV4 - used and seats were horrible. I got really sick driving home five
hours following a day of ear/head surgery. I did not mess up her car but it was bad. Gas mileage
was horrible on it.
-- 2014 Kia Soul - new with and added sunroof
-- My Impreza had about 117k miles on it and ten years. I replaced it with
the most expensive car I've owned - a 2013 (prior year from 2014) Hyundai Elantra Ltd.
Has bells and whistles and the worst tires on a new car we've ever had (applies to her Kia, too).
-- This should be the last car I own. After a year of driving it, I have under 5600 miles on it
but I use my motorcycle in better weather for shopping and leisure drives. The miles
includes about six RTs of 600 miles in the year. This year, I'm no longer making those trips.
Even if it's a bad car (recommended by Consumer Reports), it should last
!
Add a bunch of cruising motorcycles over 30 years to that. I'm still riding. You can't beat 60 mpg.
