My station car I bought used leave at train and run errands has around 9K miles on it. I drive it around 1-2 thousand miles a year so looking foward to 75 years from now when it hits 100K on odometer

Since I dropped to only one vehicle, my current DD and all around travel vehicle is about 1.5 months old. My previous vehicle was a little over 2 years old. (My other vehicle was built for off-roading so it was not a DD.)
My current vehicle will most likely be traded in come 2017 or 2018.
And I do not lease, and I do not finance.

Don't be fooled. Frequent short trips do more damage to a vehicle than long distance driving.

I'd buy a car with 100k miles that someone used to commute 50 highway miles a day for work before I'd buy a car with half the miles that was used for short trips to/from a station.

Once I get the rebuilt motor put in my 87 Mustang, I will be adding to the 306K miles on it that I accumulated over 24 years of daily driving. My current daily driver is a 2003 Vibe GT with 214K miles that will be going to my twin boys when they are old enough to drive.
