Hello,
Thinking of buying the 2011 rav4 to replace my current car. I've been doing some research and have not seen to much that would dissuade me from getting one. Anyone have any troubles with this model or generation? I already know the engine isssues were from v6 from 2007 2008 yes but I've been told they have been resolved in newer years. How is it in snow (less then 5 inches and slush most of what I drive in) the one I'm getting has awd any issues with it? (Rear diff etc) Not totally sure how it ingages in this model. Again please share any and all feelings good or bad!

We haven't had any issues with a 2010 Rav 4 V6. It's surefooted on the ice and snow encountered in the interior of Alaska. I traded a 2009 Subaru Forester for the Rav 4, because the Forester's seats were causing my wife to suffer from back pain. The V6 produces around 270HP, but it's relatively good on fuel because the 5-speed automatic transmission keeps the RPM as low as possible (somewhere near 2,000 RPM at 65 MPH). If you buy a Rav 4, by all means get the one with a V6. It's a rocket, and towing capacity is quite good.

We have a 2010 with a 4 cylinder and it has been a great car vehicle so far. The 4 cylinder has plenty of power for this size of vehicle. It turns on a dime, which is great when running errands. No AWD issues that I am aware of with them.

Go with the V6! It'll give you almost the same mpg's and you'll have a much more power on tap. You may even embarrass a few "sports cars" if need be.
