I suppose by definition this car should be a coupe and have a V8.
This is just about the only FWD car I can think of that has both.

2001 Cadillac Eldorado ESC w/28K miles for $14.9K.
That is all the money for that generation Eldorado, so all of them will be below the OP's price point.

I've owned a STS and an SLS and they're quite nice cars.
Northstars have well known issues, so get it checked out by a good mechanic before you buy.
They're great engines when they're working. I never had any problem with mine.

Granted, I wouldn't call any of these "muscle", but tuners with a good amount of torque.

Chevy Cobalt SS Turbocharged or Supercharged
Mazdaspeed 3
Mazdaspeed 6 (AWD)
Ford Focus ST, Ford Focus RS (AWD) will be released in the next few years
Subaru WRX/STI (AWD)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (AWD)
VW Golf GTI, Golf R(AWD)
Mini Cooper S
Dodge Neon SRT4
Dodge Caliber SRT4
Saturn Ion Redline

Not sure why you cant drive a rear wheel drive car in the winter, many people did it before fwd came along, obviously proper winter tires are a must.,
Muscle car for $15K,i assume we are looking at used cars as new muscle cars would probably be up in the $30s.A Subaru WRX STI might be something to look into in the used market.
Heres a few used ones in the Boston area.

Fully understand there's no FWD muscle car for all the right reasons...basically looking for the most powerful engined car that has FWD.

Life is too short not to have one.
May have to bite the bullet and get a beater

What kind of power do you want? A nice linear power curve like a V6? Or push you in your seat low down torque from a turbo I4?

Is comfort or handling your preference?

Do you mind paying for premium fuel?

Do you plan to mod/tune it? Or leave it stock?

There are plenty of options for decently powered FWD cars.

Definitely either get a winter car or an all wheel drive car (IMO).

Or at least good winter tires, depending on how much of winter you actually get where you live.

Easy answer then... GM FWD car with 5.3 or Northstar. They have over 300hp.

What is wrong with rearwheel drive? I grew up in western New York State and all we had then was rearwheel drive and never had a problem getting around? It's just what you use to driving in the snow, it has nothing to do with the vehicle unless you get four-wheel-drive.

Wondering if you could recommend a car that has a strong engine, muscle car look with FWD.
(excluding dodge..no offense!)

Also hoping to keep costs below 15k

Eldorado or Toronado with the big V8
