90 yj 258 last carb model love it to death. As simple as a cj if you bypass the computer and put in a real carb and ford dizzy etc . lifted sye and such.213000 miles and never broke even once.I will keep such a simple easy to wrench on truck for ever keep the new ones for the high tech IT guys do one mod and the computer attacks you.Happy Wheeling!

The yj is the new cj.The tj lost interior room for airbags and such and has coiliee things above the front axle.plus the yj has the best frame and those mean looking square headlights that I love.

A Jeep Commanche pickup was my daily driver for 5 years. I swapped a 5.0 Mustang engine into it, made it a fun driver. Wish I had it back.

Hey! The only thing that's not metal on my YJ is the dash, and I can guarantee if you smashed your face off it, it would kill you just the same as one from a CJ. lol

I can still leave it out in the rain with no top. It don't care. If you ask me, the YJ was the last of the true Jeeps. Leafs on all 4 corners, no AC, no air bags, etc.
After the YJ, Jeep got comfy.

I had YJ (94) until I rolled it. Two 98 GC 5.9 limiteds (one was t-boned while parked) one that replaced it is my winter beater. I always seem to look at 2003-2006 TJ's Rubicons for a winter beater to replace my 5.9, but I don't live out west anymore to actually use it in my mountains like I did my YJ. Maybe a 2004 Grand Cherokee overland with HO motor will be my next jeep? One thing I'll never understand is 4 cylinder wranglers, who buys these and why?

I absolutely love jeeps, but never owned. Right now its not practical for us but I hope to be a owner one day. I think living in arizona going into the desert trails would be so much fun driving a jeep!

Own one and get it out of your system. I would melt when one with the top down and no doors would drive by. I bought one and kept it to 3 years. In all those years I put about 2000 miles on it. It basically sat in the garage waiting for the right weather that didn’t come often enough. So now I can say been there, done that.

I had a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 200,000+ miles on it. I would still have it if I hadn't hit a patch of black ice, ran into a tree and totaled it. I now have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 130,000+ miles on it. Love my Jeep!

You know what? I also have a 91 YJ Renegade that is now in the parts pile, but it has a 4.0. The silver one above has a 2.5. I figured at some point I'll throw the 4.0 in the silver one, but I gotta tell ya, that little 2.5 is a torquie little bugger. Sure I have the gas pedal on the firewall if I want to do 65, but for around town, even with those tires, I have no complaints whatsoever.
