Tint laws vary by state. Ask some local shops what the legal tint is. 35% really isn't that dark.

Ask around and look up your window tint laws as well:

I have a friend who never had tinted windows on her cars before. As a gift of appreciation for helping me get settled in to a new place and also looking after some matters for a deployment, I gave her a gift certificate to get her windows tinted. She said it makes the car look better from the outside as well as cools the car down (we're in El Paso) and just loves the difference it makes.

I wouldn't do my windshield... that'd attract police attention for sure. I did 35 all around otherwise and it's not too dark at night to see out. It's hard to see in, which is a good thing, unless you're a cop trying to look in of course. That could get you a ticket too.

You should have no problem seeing with 35% tint at night. You could go much darker, IMO.

I have it on my truck. It's factory tint, but at night, I find myself rolling my window down, even in the rain and cold...but it's worth it for the protection in the daytime.

by the way, in some states, as long as you have a prescription, you can have your windshield tinted with a product called airblue. it is a neutral density film that reduces glare and UV light, but does not affect the forward vision.

I believe tint levels are like wire guages, I'm sure 35% is a little darker than what comes factory on most cars.

For those who don't know about tint, wanting to get it, don't use a glass cleaner with amonia, it makes it fade.

The person who creates a film or auto glass that can darken only in sunlight [like those glasses] is going to become a multimillionare... or even better if it could be darkened at will to any desired level.

Ah... dreams.

I'm sorry I meant rear windshield and windows.

I''m just afraid I can't see my blind spots or rear spot at night on streets/freeways with no light.
