not sure whats going on here.

Aston Martin and Ford ownership stopped being in the same sentence a long time back.

Oh if you want to go lighter, do what I did. Base GT with performance pack. That isnt anywhere near 4000 lbs. Its all of the luxury junk in the premium package that adds all the weight.

More like a guy who has spent hours on research and realized the gt is the everyman sports car. We would all love a zr1 or gtr, but a mustang gt is something everyone can strive for and can actually hope to own. I don't even look at exotics anymore be cause I can never hope to afford one. The mustang gives you so much power for your dollar, it's crazy.

Exactly what my plan is. I couldn't afford an 03-04 cobra when they were new. I don't want to miss out on this current gen.

I still think the 03-04 SVT "Terminator" Cobra are a great bang for the buck on the used market esp. since not many people are into the Edge styling of the SN95 anymore.

The chances of finding an 03-04 cobra that hadn't had 6 different kinds of dog shtt kicked out of it is tough. I would have a hard time trusting a used cobra unless I knew the previous owner. Same reason I won't consider a used Subaru sti. You know the cars were beaten, but what you don't know is if they were maintained or abused. I really think the mustang gt is the best car available today for an affordable price that comes with a warranty. Sure you could go faster in a fox body with a huge turbo or blower, but if you want a car with a warranty plus new car smell and can still smoke most cars out there, you need to consider a gt. I think the gt could even turn non ford people onto the brand.

I have enjoyed the evolution of the latest Mustang platform. The latest version has bit too much going on in the grill area.

Doesnt this latest version do away with the solid rear axle folks had complained about?

Ford sold the majority of Aston Martin in 2007. Currently Ford Owns 8% of the company.

IMO Mustangs have always been a great deal. I paid about $10,700 for my 87 LX 5.0, 28 years ago. If things work out well, I'll try to grab me a 2016 or possibly a late 2015 in the next year or so. Worst case, I'll grab one in 2017 so I can have a 1987 and 2017. I briefly considered getting one of the last 2014s since they were selling base GTs in the mid to high 20's, but they didn't have any equipped the way I wanted. Now that was a bang for the buck!

I need to go test drive one, but I know I won't want to return it!
