The only vehicle regret i have had was accepting a hand me down Oldsmobile Bravada from my dad, thinking it would be a good 4WD beater for MN winter. It wasn't entirely terrible for this purpose, but required a number of repairs and the thing was impossible to get rid of.

2012 370z.
Tons of brake problems.
Annoying loud power steering pump whine.
Poor handling.

But it looked good.

I once owned an 04 350z Touring. Aside from its looks the car sucked! Heavy, bad brakes, poor handling, and it burned a tremendous amount of oil. I was able to sell it a year after I bought it for the same priced I paid and bought an 06 Mazda 3s. I had more fun driving that Mazda with about half the HP of the Z than I ever did driving that Z.

The list for me is long, including a 1976 Gremlin! I think the biggest disappointment was an 08 Malibu. GM uses the cheapest interior parts possible. Dash looked like it was manufactured by the same company that sold big wheels. Pure plastic junk!

Helped my wife, who was then my girlfriend, buy a brand new 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. Dumbest purchase ever. But we sold it on Craigslist 1.5 years later and didn't really lose any money other than the $300/month she was paying with $0 down. Got a 2006 TrailBlazer SS and was much happier

Luckily, mine never burned oil, but it only got similar mileage to my Z06 (freeway and around town) and it had 170hp less. Total fail.

I feel this way anytime I buy a car, new or used. It has never been the car but rather the amount of money spent.

1) To turn the A/C on, there is not buttons! You have to wait for the infotainment system to load (1 minute or so), then, you click on the climate button, after that, there is the A/C icon on the screen. You click on that to turn it on....

2) Remote Control Steering. Gone are the rack and pinion steering, it is instead replaced with some electronically controlled gimmick. No feedback, feels artificial, and it has 3 settings that no one ever touches. Heck, I don't even remember how to get to the settings as it's hidden somewhere in the apps. Oh, if it's snowing outside... LOL, the steering shutdown and you are out. You have to call a tow truck because it's impossible to steer the car when then crappy mechanical gearing kicks in.

With rack and pinion, if the power steering fails, you can still steer the car with one hand. Not with this Q50. You need 3 people to turn the wheel.

3) Horrible fuel economy. Gets 15.2 mpg at best. (60/40) city/hwy

4) Infotainment system. Complete garbage. We were promised the Pandora App late 2013. It's now mid 2015. No Pandora. System is also SLOW. CD player can only hold 1 CD.

5) Road noise. WTH this thing is LOUD. My 2006 Coupe with summer performance tires are quieter than this Sedan.

6) Crappy Alignment. I guess because it's powered by a remote control steering unit, everytime you hit a dip, the alignment goes out of whack. I got my car aligned a week ago. It's going back on monday for another alignment. Car is pulling to the left now. They recommend that you stop and slow down for any dips on the road. We're talking less than 2mph here. Go faster and the steering will lose it's alignment. You'll either pull to the left or to the right. Complete and utter garbage!
1) There are actual buttons on the side of the lower screen for climate control. Did you not notice them?

2) Drive by wire steering is OPTIONAL. Why would you pick the model with that feature?

When we were first married we had a 1982 Toyota Celica GT Liftback with the 22R engine. We traded it in in '84 for a Honda Accord for the front wheel drive. Should have bought a used 4WD pickup for the winter and kept the Celica. I saw some of those ran for 300,000 miles with few problems.
