Who had a yugo when they were sold here in America , the worst car of all time.

Only option was a rear defrost to keep your hands warm so you could push it in the winter.

I never bought one. A guy I worked with did. It started falling apart immediately.

My poor Dad's advertising agency had the merciless task of trying to market them. I remember going to the NY Auto show with him ~ the agency also had Aston Martin at the other end of the spectrum!

a little history about the yugo .. when the first one was made it was just a one seater car and was called an IGO ... the builders wife got mad cause she could not go so he built another car with two seats and called it a WEGO .. then when the wife complained that her mother could not fit the man gave her the car and said YUGO ....

A woman crossing the The Mackinac Bridge in Michigan with a Yugo lost control and fell to her death into lake Michigan.

This one sold at Barrett-Jackson in 2013.

1990 YUGO GVC CONVERTIBLE - Barrett-Jackson Auction Company - World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions

It's appreciated a decent amount.
Would probably get as much attention as any exotic.

Most, if not all Yugo dealers were paired with other marques.
At the end I recall them giving one for free if you bought something else.

They were made by Zastava in Yugoslavia on an old assembly line purchased from Fiat as I recall. One of the selling points was that the communist workers who built the Yugos destined for the US market were paid an extra 25 cents an hour. The body panels were remarkably thick like a Mercedes. Probably not because they wanted them to be, more likely lacked tech to made thinner steel panels. Parts were cheap though, I remember a new cylinder head cost $135. Like most of its sub $5k brethren, was not much of a car. The only vehicle with any legs was the Suzuki Samurai.
