Hi,
Would like expert opinions about longevity of two cars and which one to keep long term? I own both cars and want to sell one and keep one.
First car is an Infinity G35 2005 with 130,000 miles in good condition. New brakes.
Second Car is Toyota Sienna Van, 2000, with 138,000 miles in good condition. New Brakes.
The car that will be kept will be used to drive 30 miles a day round trip to work. Considering maintenance costs, and reliability, which car should I keep?
I'd keep the Infiniti if you don't need the utility.
I checked TrueDelta and a 2005 G35 and 2005 Sienna have almost identical reliability.
They don't go back to 2000, but a 2004 Sienna is less reliable.
Being 5 years newer is a plus for the Infiniti.
We own both cars. One car, either new or the 2000 Sienna Van needs to have some decent trunk space as it will be used for our family of three, with 600 mile trips taken about half a dozen times a year. No matter which car we sell, we will replace it with a SUV of mid size to make the road trips. I am not comfortable in the older van knowing that the safety features are not as abundant as newer cars and less reliability on the road trips is concerning.

Goodness, what an easy choice. Obviously the G35! Don't even think about this.
Wow, I read the rest of the responses. You have a family of three and a G35 isn't enough room? Really???? SUV's are junk, but whatever, it is your life. Wow, we take family trips in an A4 Audi, because I take driving seriously and believe in safety for real, not some fake front end crash silliness. I'll take my AWD well equipped good handling car over anything on the road for safe travel. You can keep your box on wheels.
(Yawn. Watch for those potholes and puddles, though, with your groundhugger's lack of ground clearance. )
