After being away for 2 weeks and not using our cars, my spouses car & my car were both making grinding noises for the first 10-20 miles . The noises went away. But when we used the brakes it made a grinding noises. I just had my brakes replaced about 2 months ago.
Can your car after not being used for 2 weeks make these weird sounds after using it again after 2 weeks ? Is that common?

Rust on brake rotors. The friction surfaces are bare steel and they rust at the slightest hint of moisture and oxygen in the air. Do a couple hard braking, when it's safe, to shed the rust.
surface rust can accumulate very quickly on a sitting vehicles brake rotors .. most likely the problem ,,
You are correct surface rust on the rotors very common nothing to worry about.
