No. With GM cars, the round key opened the doors, the square key started the car. If the car was locked, it took both keys to get in and go anywhere. GM did that, Chrysler and Ford did not. I don't know what the patterns might have been with imports.
In John Waters' movie, "Desperate Living", there's a scene where two of the characters get into a car and drive away. When the car starts, the motorized antenna raises. Waters says that it always gets a laugh, and he still can't understand why.
