My 2000 Suburban rolled off of a roll-back tow truck yesterday, as the driver was tightening the chains. The chain broke, sent the truck nose first off of the back of the bed approx. 4-5 feet to the ground. It sounded like a bomb went off. The isn't any visible damage other than the bumper tweaked a bit. What do you think could be any potential damage from such a high fall ?

Raise the front end on jack stands or a lift and try to wiggle the front wheels in and out and back and forth. You are checking for ball joint damage. If they pop or there is excessive play, they are shot?

Valid question, I saw a SUV speed up a little to bust through a snow bank from a plow as he was trying to get onto the main highway from a side road, and his airbags went off.

My brothers 98 Suburban fell off a flatbed when a cable snapped.
Broke the motor mounts, rear axle, cracked the transmission. Cracked the radiator. Bent the frame.
My brother ran after the truck and jumped in and set the emergency brake a few feet before hitting pedestrians. Broke his own back in process.

The police was not called and the tow company tried to settle for a few hundred bucks. That was the end of it. Always get a police report.

That is actually no joke guys! Those damn things are expensive as hell to replace if they pop on you!

1) Radiator
2) Front suspension
4) Frame
5) Front axle
6) Oil pan
7) Tranny pan

But I would have a professional mechanic that you trust take a look at the vehicle and give an accurate assessment.

They do have junk yards that specialize in airbags if you need some. Jump on the net to find them!

Take it to your insurance company's adjuster and let them tell you what the damage is.
