Here's a pic I snapped yesterday at my local Volvo dealer when I dropped my XC90 off for service. This color is called Rebel Blue or "Swedish Racing Blue" for those in the know. Not dull at all!
For people throwing some statistics etc, just go look at the road outside your house its the best statistics out there...

Americans love to drive and love owning cars. We've built our entire lives around in the car. That's one of the most absurd things I've ever heard.
Not like they LOVE to drive they HAVE to drive because public transportation in US is available only in large cities. In US there's only big grocery and other stores like Walmart's all located far from suburban areas. In Europe you don't really need a car that bad, just owning car in Europe is luxury in US its necessity so i kind of agree that many people in US think driving is WORK, not a JOY.
True. But now when someone says..."red cars are ticket magnets...", you can say, I know one that wasn't.
Agreed. I've always wondered how police radars can tell one color from another myself....
If there is any truth to red cars being "ticket magnets" I would say that the flamboyant personalities attracted to a bright red color are probably a little more flamboyant in their driving habits.
I have to scratch my head at the worrying about darker colors at night as well. The only color you see on other cars at night are bright white and bright red (with a splash of bright amber here or there).... meaning you only see the lights of another car at night and cannot tell what color it is until you pull along side it and squint and shade your eyes from other oncoming headlights....
Now earth/cement monotone colors that blend in with the road in daylight, that is a different consideration....
