There is a gas station around the corner that has sign saying they sell racing fuel ( they have a brand but don’t remember now). Is racing fuel the same as ethanol-free gas? I was actually looking for some.

Well racing fuel can refer to tons of common fuels used in motorsports. There's Nitrous which is used by drag racing vehicles. There's leaded gasoline which is mostly used by NASCAR and Methanol which is used in some open wheel race cars. There are many brands like VP, Torco, and even Sunoco has some racing fuels. I personally recommend Torco; which you can find online for like $50. I'm only speaking for the 5 gallon pail's.

Someone already mentioned it but 100 or 101 octane are the most common. I get 110. A higher octane rating means more resistance to detonation. The only thing is that no gas station sells 110 so you have to order it online.

Whatever you're using I always use what the manual recommends. Using higher octane above what the manual recommends is wasteful.

Alcohols like methyl alcohol (Methanol) and ethyl alcohol (Ethanol) are often used in race fuels. They can be a small part of the fuel or a large component of the fuel. Ethanol can be used "straight" but it's more common to hear about E85 which is 85% ethanol.

Here's VP by the way. I don't use it but I've heard of it so I put up a link for you.

It mentions VP Vintage are ethanol free
