Rarely. This last time the 2014 didn't come with the retractable storage area cover, so I sprung for it at $69, had to come back because it was out of stock
the day we bought. Everything else we wanted came on it. Once before we had to buy the spare cover for the rear mount on a SUV, but got that online at about half the dealer price.
I had at least a couple dealerships that would, once we arrived at a price for a stripped-down model, sell me all the accessories I wanted at half price. (I was told that was their markup.) That was a pretty good deal, as the cost of the accessories could usually be regained when I'd trade the car in 2 or 3 years later. Now days cars come equipped with "packages", and I usually just buy from the dealer's lot. I will buy a few accessories from the dealership. I decided to buy WeatherGuard floor mats for my new car, as the dealer recommended them over the Toyota mats. I still ordered them from the Toyota dealer, which was a little cheaper than the online sources I found.
The overwhelming majority of new imported cars have been loaded with standard equipment for three decades, so coughing up $$$$ for accessories is pointless.
Unless you need them
