Just started noticing, nearly every car on the road is now either white or silver. Why?

People with no imagination or sense of style since the car is just an appliance?

Most of my cars have been red (4), blue (2), gold(champagne)(2) and one was black and one was green. Silver does look clean much longer, and white is a good clean color also.

I see a lot of black cars, too. Why? Car manufacturers know one of those non colors will be acceptable to many people.

Black in the sun belt gets like an inferno when parked.
White is much cooler.

Because white and silver are timeless colors, which matters now with cars lasting 15+ years. It didn't matter much when they lasted 5-7 years if the color was "dated" because by the time it became "dated" the car was mostly done for anyway.

If you have pets the lighter color is important because the car stays cooler inside.

I think black looks good only when it is clean and polished. Black has the issue of toasting the inside of t he car and the car can be like an oven even on days that are not that hot outside.

Red is reputed to attract traffic tickets.

I've had black cars, and silver cars.

Black cars look awesome when clean. Problem is keeping them clean. They also show every scratch and look like crap in direct sunlight.

My silver car hid everything. Could go days without washing it and would look clean. Scratches were hard to see.

My next car will be white. I just like that color on luxury cars.

Black doesn't always look like crap in direct sunlight. It's all in the preparation. Admittedly, if you can't detail black paint yourself, you probably don't want to own a black car. Detailer bills get rather expensive:

Silver -- as long as we're talking metallic silver -- can be one of the best colors on luxury cars:
