Sure if they are legitimately selling cars and transferring titles. How about if they are selling to undocumented/unlicensed drivers and the car still is titled in your name displaying your tags?

They could care less about the registration status, in most states it doesn't get transferred so the new buyer pays it anyways.

I imagine most of the usable ones go to "buy here pay here" lots to be sold, repossessed, sold, repossed, lather rinse repeat.

You take them to your local DMV or AAA office and transfer the title. That's what I do. I've fine it with the last three cars I sold privately. I make it part of the condition of sale. I'm upfront about it. I have turned diwn people who didn't want to transfer it and we're gonna do it later.

The only cash for cars around here are paying $400 to $500 for them and they go to pick a parts..... Never heard of any that pay a lot for a good running car...
