I send his son a text message last weekend. I told him that he have no legal right to keep the van at his girlfriend's house. I got proof the van title that is in my name. I also told him that he have one week to return it or I will go to the police. He got mad and send his dad a nasty text messages. He said that he don't want to talk to us because I want him to get the van transfer to his name. He want me to keep the van in my name and pay car insurance on it. I told him no. I am not his mother or sugar momma. He don't want to take adult responsibility. He need to grow up at 29 year old. The lady at the DMV office told me that the car plate for the van is supposed to be renewed on December 7th. I am not going to renewed it. My boyfriend told him that he got until October 30th to transfer the van to his name or we will get the plate off the van. He won't able to drive it without the plate. His son keep saying that he is in a tight spot. He is not paying rent or bills. My boyfriend is willing to pay for the transfer title of his son's name. It is only $15 dollars. He will not pay for car plate and car insurance. His son is on his own to get the car plate and car insurance.

Not only could he get into an accident, but the vindictive little POS may very well destroy it before giving it back, just to spite you. I have seen what can happens to a vehicle when the driver knows it is going to be repossessed.
I would tell him we are coming after it today. Take your bf with you, if he won't stand up with you against his son on this matter, dump him too. bf raised that kid in his own image.

I sold a car to a friend once. It took several years for me to find that he never transferred the car in his name. He went into AAA club or the DMV and said he did not receive the renewal and wanted to pay. He paid in cash and tags were issued in my name.
I would fill out the forms stating you transferred it to him at the DMV, I would then cancel the insurance. The DMV will take care of it from there.
