They're gonna throw a cage inside and strip out what they don't need and quickly dump out the tires to some Prius owners that would love to have another set of tires for cheap like me.
The reality is, it's a $25k sports car and nothing else comes close at this price point and with a $3-5k investment you have a fully track focused weekend car.

I disagree, as the car functionally exactly what I was looking for.
If you re-read, I never said the lack of sound deadening was or was not a deal breaker. I was pointing out to the OP my general impressions.
What soured me first and foremost was a poorly engineered transmission which has widespread reports of failed synchros at very early mileages, including what I experienced twice, in gearboxes which had not been abused. This combined with Aisin not fixing the gearbox internally giving little hope the problem would eventually be avoided.
Beyond that, I was not impressed by the thin carpet not because it was thin, but because with 4500 miles it showed significant wear. Also, exterior rust for a car that hardly ever was even wet is a bit of a turnoff.
Not everyone is going to strip them. Hence the psuede leather seats, auto climate control, and other comfort features.
It simply is a great chassis, but otherwise is lacking.
