Wanting too add two more back speakers in my new van. Dealer doesn't know how to add any speakers and just said need to go too a installer for 150.00 too add just two speakers. It real easy to install the wiring and speaker's it's just real hard too get the back of the radio. It's a 2014 radio with GPS built-in.
Ah, it's one of those vans...
You need to get to the original door speaker wiring. Run feeds of it to whatever locations you want new speakers in. Wiring will have to run through the door wiring conduit and out, then you have to remove some panels to run wiring so that it won't get damaged. 2 speakers means you have to do this on both sides.
Or, remove the factory head unit, locate speaker wires and tap into them. Whatever is easier. I'd say head unit removal is easier, then you simply run wires under the carpeting and trim panels.
Word of advice. Get amp and power those two speakers or they will sound like crap. But then you'll have to have 12V source and on/off wire.
Good dual voice coil ellipticals are great choice.
The installer wants to connect too one side only and you know that will not work. I will be doing this work myself too hook this up right. Thanks for all the help.
