What tire brand(s) would you avoid at all cost?

That is common in many kinds of products. Store brand foods are produced by the name-brand companies, too.

The fact that Michelin agrees, under contract, to make a tire for Dollar Tree does not mean they are just stamping Dollar Tree's logo on the sides of Michelin tires.

What you are talking about is like the Arizonian tires manufactured by Goodyear or Cooper (I forget) for Discount Tire and only sold through their stores. If there are any quality issues, Discount Tire takes the blame, not manufacture. Arizonian tires are cheap, crappy and slightly worse than Goodyear tires.

In the case of Uniroyal and BFG, Michelin owns those two brand names and quality control is performed by Michelin employees.

Never cheapen out the most important part of the car. Tires affects safety. Countless accidents and deaths are attributed to poor tire condition and driver skills
