As far as I know the turbo Regal RWD Platform came in three flavor basic regal turbo early models, later T-Type, later n GN and GNX. The platform was made since I think 79/80. It wasn't called GN back then. That was the cool thing about Buick. They made these grandpa looking cars that could whoop your azz. Hell the T-type was a grandpa looking mobile. The only tell was the hood bump but most people had no idea what it was.

The Problem with the IROC-Z is they never offered the Corvette L98 5.7 TPI with the 5-speed Manual since the 305 TBI/TPI was pretty weak when compared to the EFI 302 (5.0) Mustang with a Tremec T-5.
The secret to the 3RD gen F-body is to find a Non-T-top base model Z28 and Firebird (lightest and stiffest chassis from the factory) and drop in a built 350 SBC with a 4BBL or 6.0 LQ4/LQ8 Vortec V-8 or if you have some cash a LS1/LS2 mated to a TKO 5 speed or T-56 6-speed

The defunct Buick dealer in Pinellas Park , Scott Buick , had 2 year old left over Regal T Types lined up well into 1989. I should have bought one , I recall they were ,
marked down to the same general price i paid for my new 88 Mustang GT.
