Oshawa, Ontario.

The Regal is a perfectly fine car. It has a turbo engine just like dozens of other cars on the market - it provides the economy of a 4 cylinder with the power of a 6 when needed. It does share it's platform with a few other GM vehicles including the Malibu but it's far from a rebadge.

The Regal does not sell as well the Lacrosse because the latter is just a bit bigger.

The majority all new engine technology is 4 cylinder turbo. More powerful and fuel efficient. Think BMW, Audi, VW, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Volvo.

The Japanese American brands will undoubtedly catch up with the tech in the next 2-4 years.

in favor of what?

all mid sized sedans will be 4 cylinder turbo in the next 5 years.

it's pretty much the industry standard.

V6's and V8's are a thing of the past.

A lot of the first 2011s were. But all Canada production now.

The turbo version is the only one I'd consider if I were in the market for that car.

Tiny motors with a turbo are the manufactors trying to meet Obama's fuel milage standards. Turbos are another complicated thing to give trouble and be expensive to fix. Some motorcycles have bigger motors than these cars, redicoulos and these cars aren't light weight.

There's nothing to "catch up" on, some people just don't care for the raspy buzzy sound and vibrations of a 4 cylinder.

The 2015 BMW 528 with it's 4 cylinder turbo engine feels just like a torquey V6 thanks to the fuel maps, transmission gearing and adjustable engine modes.

People are either delusional or they simply don't comprehend the the behind the newer generations of 4 cylinder engines.

Do you just copy/paste this response in any discussion involving turbo 4's?

Obama doesn't decide fuel mileage standards...
