Sister was driving a 2011 VW Jetta. Their son's 2003 VW Passat was on it's last leg. They traded in the son's Passat, passed their Jetta to the son, and bought a 2016 Buick Regal (not the GS) for about $20,000. Is there a problem with this model that dealers are cutting prices to move inventory? Is there a new Regal on the way? I ask because last year I bought a new Elantra SE with Popular Package for nearly the same price.

To me the only problems are it's a Buick, and it's a turbo.

Nice car, but its pretty much a rebadged Malibu with a nicer interior and suspension, but suffers from the same issue: cramped rear seat.

Not a problem for my sister. Bother of her kids drive. The son drives the 2011 VW Jetta and the daughter drives a 2013 Ford Focus. They could afford the Focus because it had been in an accident and my brother-in-law made the necessary repairs himself.

I could count on one hand the number of newer Regals I've seen on the road.

FYI, the car is known as the Vauxhall / Opel Insignia in other parts of the world. So if you do any research on it, googling those names may turn up some more information.

...and correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't the new Regal assembled in Germany?
