Hi guys,

I recently bought a 2012 G37 Infiniti at a Nissan dealership. Everything seemed great, but then it turns out that the side mirrors couldn't adjust. I contacted the Nissan dealership, and they said that they wouldn't fix it, so I brought it to the Infiniti dealership since it was still under warranty. However, it turns out that there's more broken parts in the wiring. The security system doesn't work, the side mirrors don't work, and the memory seats don't work. They said that since it looks like all this damage couldn't have happened by chance, it wouldn't be covered under warranty. I contacted Nissan again, and they agreed to fix the side mirrors, but now I'm afraid that the car might've had a car crash even though the Carfax came up clean. When I bought it, the engine coolant was gone so I'm afraid that maybe there's a leak, or maybe there are other things wrong with the car that'll be revealed in the long term. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to return the car.

Thanks.

Depends what state you're in, and how much you want to spend on a lawyer.

You need to contact the Nissan zone office. It's in the Owner's Manual.

Texas has no cooling off period. Once you drive it off the lot, it's yours. Was there a dealership warranty on it or anything of that sort?

There's something called a cool off period. It doesn't apply to cars.

A defective product is a little different, though. This isn't buyer's remorse. This is an issue with the car and you're concerned you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Edmunds has an article that's relevant for you.

Either way, you're going to want to hound the dealership and the warranty company. I'd also go to an independent mechanic and have them do a once over of the thing. Drained coolant is definitely a concern.

There was no dealership warranty. It does have the manufacturer's bumper to bumper warranty, if that affects it at all.

How many miles are on it?

Contact Infiniti Consumer Affairs, let them know all the facts. Don't whine about it, be factual. Take notes of things they tell you.

Also if the Infiniti dealer isn't working with you, bring it to another Infiniti dealer.

Wait a minute; you said that when you bought the car, "the engine coolant was gone?" I'm wondering why you bought a car with no coolant. That's about as red as a flag can get!
