From the little research I've done this seems to be a decent price for this truck. He said I could get it out the door for $28k. That's including everything.

It has 34k miles on it and looks to be in mint condition. The salesman said they bought it at an auction where the truck had been repossessed. He is going to allow me to do a 24hr test drive and I plan to take it to my body guy to make sure it hasn't been wrecked and rebuilt. It doesn't to me but you never know.

I would have liked the 5.3 but throwing some 3.73s or 4.10s in the rear should pep the 4.8 up a little bit. I would lose gas mileage but I don't plan to drive it everyday since I have a Canyon I drive daily. Is this a decent deal?

Does it still carry the factory 5 year 100K powertrain warranty if it was repossessed? Do a good check of it, normally, people who have their vehicle repossessed do not tend to keep the maintenance up to par. Have the dealer print off the records for any warranty or possible maintenance done at a GM dealer. They can do it...
And if the dealer says it is still under the factory warranty, get it in writing.
But it looks clean from the outside photos. As for price, a lot depends on where you live.

Check the title and make sure it's not a reconstructed or otherwise.

It looks clean but not 100%.

E.g. those rims are off a 2005-06 model.

Website says it does come with the 5yr/100k warranty. Will get him to print out the maintenance records. Thanks.

They use those same wheels through 2013 LTs I know. Maybe 2014 and on too. Not sure.

Truck was great except for the chassis. You can tell it had come from West Virginia. It was rusty as hell.

I'm not sure but I've always been peculiar about the chassis. I actually painted the chassis on my '98 K1500 with POR15. Despise a rusty chassis on a truck.

And missing the center caps, have him throw them in the deal

My little brother had a truck same everything except his was a 5.3 Flex engine. As far as 4x4 capability, I swear he could get stuck on asphalt with it. Can't even begin to tell you how many times I pulled him out of light stuff with my 2 wd F150 Supercrew, sometimes driving around his truck to gte a decent angle to pull. It was lousy in any kind of small rock or sandy conditions. Might have been the tires that came with it but he didn't keep it long enough to ever wear the tires out. That YM had major issues with the front axles, his included. They put 3 different front axles on it and it still failed. He moved his with less than 35,000 miles on the clock. On the plus side, the 5.3 Flex engine was a real power house and yet gave him tremendous fuel mileage. At 70 he could get 23-24 mpgs with it. He could also light up all 4 tries on asphalt too.
Around here if a dealer asked 28 grand for that truck the buyer would ask him what was he smoking? YOu can buy that truck for far, far less money. His truck was fairly pristine when he unloaded it. The dealer gave him 17 for it. 28 grand is basically calling you stupid....but that's here, not up north. Here's a 2013 with 22,000 miles, 4x4 with an asking price of 26. You could probably drive it out at 24 tax, title, everything.

I assume you're from ENC and this is Dan Wise Chevy in La Grange.

I would not buy from them. Looked at an Impala there a few years ago and it was a manufacturer lemon buy back car. I lost any trust I had in them over the fact that they'd buy such a thing at an auction to resell.

A lot of your dealerships around here take the center caps off until they sell the vehicle. People steal center caps.
