Has anyone else had people get offended that you wouldn't let them eat / smoke / do their makeup / whatever in your car? I have been surprised by how angry some people get ... it's like they think you're making a value judgment on their life ... I guess because they do those things in their car. Or maybe they think you're rejecting them and saying you don't Really want them in your car at all?
I don't know, I never had a problem respecting peoples' car rules ... but some people seem to get all tiffy about it. This applies to coworkers, friends, family...
Just curious about people's experiences on this issue, thanks.
I understand not letting people eat/drink/smoke in your car, but what is the reasoning behind not allowing a passenger to apply makeup? If they pulled lipstick or mascara from their purse, you would tell them to put it away?
Here in Hawaii quite a few people live in their cars. In fact when a person applies for food stamps here, if they have no address they can give their license plate number as their residence.
I've been in some co-workers' cars when going to lunch and they have to remove mounds of empty shopping bags, receipts, crumpled paper, food wrappers, water bottles, extra shoes, clothes, etc to make room for me to sit down. Having an extra pair of shoes and clothes make sense for the gym but the rest of the stuff is just trash. These are probably the same people who can't park in the garage because it's filled to the brim with more crap.
I thought this was a free country in which people can put in their car what they want as long as it's safe?
My thought is that this can be a safety hazard. All you need is to have some bottle or whatever roll under the brake pedal and you've got problems when you try and stop.
Live in a Pig Pen then why not Drive / Ride in a Pig Pen?
Not quite.
It is not uncommon for people to have horribly messy cars and spotless homes and it is not uncommon for people to have spotless cars and messy homes. One really has nothing to do with the other.
I do it to annoy people. I also enjoy driving around with my blinker on.
Careful driving around with your blinker on, you don't want to run out of blinker fluid.
