You end up with banks and credit unions offering you 2% or less loans out to 84 months on cars that cost six figures. It's a recipe for disaster. Everyone with a 800 credit score needs to be extra vigilant so they're not tempted into buying a Maserati. Otherwise they'll end up posting threads about how it really blows to have bad credit.

If you've 'worked hard' to have an 800 credit score, and I use the Dr Evil finger quotes there because I do have an 800 credit score and haven't worked hard at it at all.. I simply pay my bills on time and have no debt outside of a mortgage.. Then you generally have shown that you have the smarts not to do something stupid like that.

It's great having good credit! I worked hard to get it, after having not good credit. Thread is stupid, even though I know it's not completely serious. It's like saying it really blows being rich, attractive, well-endowed, loved, or smart. Total BS. And, people with good credit aren't going to fall for any stuff OP mentions. That's why they have good credit.

Agree with this poster^^^. My credit score is 840 and there is a good reason for that.

My credit card companies hate me because I keep the cards paid off. 30% interest is for fools.

My credit score is >800. I have yet to felt a need to go out and spend beyond my means buying any car.

Actually, unless I get 0% (or amazingly close to it), I typically don't even finance.

(Lets keep in mind, people who have 800+ credit scores do so in part because they are not taking out lots of loans for amounts beyond their means anyway).

PS, I wouldn't buy a Maserati anyway. The impressiveness of the Maser dies a little the more you pick out the stock Chrysler switchgear.

Regardless of Credit Score . . .

Only an IDIOT charges more than they are able to comfortably repay in a reasonable length of time.

I'd hate to be a celebrity that has no privacy.
