There are waterless or no rinse washes. Try Optimum No Rinse

In my area they don't forbid it as long as there isn't a line. That's more than reasonable. I doubt they have concerns about losing money to people bucket washing, I would think they would lose money by not allowing it. Their concern is the guy bucket washing when there is a line of people behind him with quarters to spend.

For me a wash is a wash, and I will use a touchless at the Exxon station. Actually does a good job.

To me, a detail is what I do twice a year; spring and fall. That includes really cleaning out the interior, getting out ALL the dog fur, applying Zaino car polish and really giving it a great cleaning.

Ours do a free wash too, but then I like to wash them more than once a year. I will sometimes drop 4 dollars at the coin-op to do a quick spray-only wash but most of the time do a hand wash in the driveway.
If you are not allowed to wash cars at your home, take a bucket with soap and sponge, fill it when you get to the coin-op and do the hand wash there. If you go at off hours like 7am or 8pm there is rarely anyone waiting for your space.

NO. Never let the dealer wash your car. They will leave swirls all over the paint. Just the same as those automatic car washes. If you have to use the manual car wash and never touch your car paint with any of their brushes.

Of course if you just want dirt removed from your car sure anything will do. But they will leave long lasting swirls on your paint as a reminder.

Dealer installed swirls:

Why do you care?

Your clear coat is shot, there isn't much of a reason for you to worry about your finish.

Sharp looking car.

And I'm sure your car has never seen road salt. That is a situation where it's hard to beat a carwash. I just can't match the undercarriage rinse unless I want to put my car on blocks and crawl under while wearing goggles and some sort of face shield to keep crap from getting on my skin and in my eyes.

I do have to wash and wax again, but I was going to do that anyways.

Carwash is fine, you just have to know how to. Letting dealer do the carwash is asking for trouble. They will drag their dirty rags all over your car drying it. That is how you introduce swirls. Using a high quality microfiber towel and you can touch dry the car and won't be nearly as bad.

OCD people use leaf blowers to dry their cars.

Google "mobile car detailing" and your city. Most offer separate interior and exterior packages in addition to full detail packages. Prices can vary.
