I am almost 30 years old, and I got my driver's license last year. Since getting it, I have not been able to drive. My parents REFUSE to put me on their insurance plan, until I get a job. But even then, they say the cost of me being a new driver on their plan will be about $800 a month. So it being that much, they won't let me drive at all.

Okay, so go get a job. Then buy a car and get your own insurance. That being said, even for a new driver driving a sports car $800 a month sounds very wrong.

Yeah... I fail to see the problem?

The OP is a case of a 29 year old living in their parent's basement with no job and thinking the world owes them everything. They have posted multiple times about getting health insurance, jobs, etc and they refuse to do anything besides cry and play the whole "poor me" card. They feel entitled to something they haven't earned.

Even if I bought my own car, my parents would refuse me the insurance, even if I bought my own insurance they would refuse it. They are very overprotective.

You're 29 OP. Your parent's can't "refuse" (prevent) you from getting a car or insurance with your own money.

They can't refuse it. The insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company, your parents have no control over it

I clicked on OPs posts and she was only 1 lb 2 oz at birth and may have lingering related issues. My own kids were very early though closer to 2 lbs at birth and I am an overprotective mama too. Anyway, please be kind.

get a cheap used car so the insurance is cheap. get liability only.

If your parents are the problem, you will have to move out.
