How often should we be changing this?.

I get different answers from different mechanics, ranging from 30K-100K miles.

TY in advance.

Check your owner's manual. Manufacturer's like Honda, Toyota and Nissan use long life coolants that can go like 5 yrs.

A lot of manufacturers say somewhere around the 60k mile mark, but as mclasser said, refer to your owner's manual for specific data to your vehicle.

Many modern cars have change intervals of at least 100K. Like others have said, check your owners manual.

Manual says 100K, but this car is 11 years old w/only 65K miles.

Think I'll change it anyways, car has sat outside for months of sub-zero temps over the years.

I don't go by the age or miles. I'll change it if it looks dirty, or if it fails a hydrometer test, which I'll do every fall after about 20,000 miles.

Really depends on the coolant. If it's green it's probably every 2 yrs. The orange coolant is usually the stuff good for 100K miles or about 5yrs. If you're buying an unknown your better off being on the safe side and changing it. Then you have to watch what coolants you use, some of the orange/yellow coolant can't be mixed with the green stuff.

New and newer Toyotas have 150 000 miles coolant.

Every two years. The rust inhibiting properties break down after time. Some people play Russian Roulette with it, but it will pay dividends if you follow that schedule. I also put in a bottle of Lucas Water Pump Lubricant and Rust Inhibitor. When I change my coolant it is as clean as the day I put it in and the cooling passages in the block are spotless.
