If you don't drive crazy, I wouldn't worry about it. Most new vehicles have stability control.

In a world where half the drivers are staring at their phone instead of the road - rollover really does not make the list of concerns anyway does it?

No, I am not worried about turning sharp in a pickup. I also know not to drive it like a complete idiot. Center of gravity is not a concern. Also, the ability to go places a car won't ever see and haul loads that a car wishes it could do, far outweigh any perceived disadvantage of a pickup.

If you drive a pickup, or even if you drive a little tiny car, if you are a sane driver, you slow down for sharp turns.

As I drive down the highway, I see plenty of little low cars on their backs in the ditch. It's not like they are immune from turning turtle.

I think it would be fine up to at least 0.5G. That's a pretty aggressive corner, but if you draw the diagonal, the center of gravity would not reach the center line of the vehicle.

Most of them turned over after they hit the ditch. Rolling on the road is rare.

Not everyone likes to hang the rear end out on turns "Starsky and Hutch" style like you do. Its hell on tires for one thing. For another, people blasting around turns and hitting pedestrians is a thing here. Right turn on red has a lot to answer for.

Maybe, but, what a concept, drive like your car "could" roll over even if it is a sportscar! I can't see how it can hurt and given the number of people that roll their cars just pulling off the road to take a whiz, more people should have vehicle dynamics uppermost in their minds at all times.

over the years i have driven just about everything between a honda 600 coupe to a 5 ton vacuum truck, and i never had any fear that any of them might tip over. but then i tend to drive intelligently on the street and avoid problems like that.

SUV roll overs (when they occur) tend to be related to swerving rather than turning. You can change lanes abruptly at speed but the chassis needs to settle before whipping back over. Even economy cars can get into trouble this way. I had a Nissan Sentra rental that seriously was less stable than my 4Runner. That car was almost dangerously bad imho.

Drive around Vegas or LA and you will soon discover it's possible to roll just about any vehicle.
