I'm in phoenix, its been over 115-120 for the last week here. I park under a carport, AC is already on when I start it, put both windows down as I pull out right away, and 50 feet later put the windows back up. It doesn't take 2 minutes on my original 15 yr old AC to cool my vehicle down right away. I know the carport helps a ton, but its never bad, and doesn't take long. Anything more than a couple minutes and you probably need to service your AC.

Remote start is probably the best option if that works for you.

I'd like to see the faces of people watching you do this.

i run the a/c on max so that no outside air is drawn in. that way the cabin cools down faster, since the heat load is reduced.

Buy some cheap white flat sheets and drape them over your black leather seats when you leave the car. The sun won't soak in so much and keep the interior a bit cooler. I always put white hand towels over my steering wheel and dash, which are black, in my car.

My Accord allows me to open the windows and the sun roof with the key fob from quite a good distance. One of the best features of the car, especially here in Texas. By the time I get to it, the worst of the heat has escaped.

What color is the paint? Dark colors are hotter than white.

Drive a couple of blocks with the windows down to blow the heat out, then close up and turn on the AC.

I had owned more than 20 cars before I got one with AC.

I'm in AZ ~ it was 113 here the other day and not much better the last 2 weeks....get in, open the windows wide and blast AC to blow out the hot air. Then close the windows and it's nice and cool. I have a Toyota and their AC is excellent so it comes on cold pretty much right away.
