Trim levels are not the same as Editions.

Editions like the Texas Editions or the Northwoods edition (sold in Minnesota) are simply a few options added to a truck.

A trim level is something different, where you get materially more and real difference as you move up. In a Silverado it would be something like LT, LTZ, etc...In an F150, XL, XLT, FX4, Lariat, King Ranch...

This is correct.

Editions are simply option packages that you can add onto a trim level.

I can't say for sure now but in the past the "state" editions were simply renamed packages that are available to any buyer. They take a commonly available option and add regional badging to it and call it a new name.
