I have a BMW and Audi now (sold the Mercedes). Tesla is probably a good car but I'll wait until they have some years under their belt. The other 3 have been refining their machines for years.
I like the Model S. I'm not a huge fan of the exterior styling, the interior is quite nice though.
But with that being said... I'm just not ready to give up my V8, twin turbo Mercedes for one. The gas argument is economically irrelevant to me, my company pays my gas bills. So having an electric car doesn't benefit me any way at all, but I'd still have to deal with the lesser range and charging issues.
I would consider a Tesla if I could have another "spare/fun" car. But I've already got one of those too, and my garage is full. I'll probably get an electric car one of these days, not sure it will be a Tesla, Porsche's upcoming Mission E is said to be a superior car in every way, so we'll see.
there are several in the area, I like them for the most part, very sharp very good looking cars with a air of solid well built quality about it, much as our beloved German cars.
That SUV though, my heavens that is an ugly ungainly beast. Tesla must have fired the styling A team.
Not all electrics are quiet. I heard a Karma and it was making a strange kind of electric shaver buzzsaw noise. No wonder those never really took off.
That they never took off had ZERO to do with their sound.
