The further south you go the more you will find 2WD SUVs. They serve the same purposes that station wagons did in years gone by. Bear this in mind if you want a 4x4 vehicle foe snow driving.

Agreed.

OP, just remember to get a car wash about once a week during the winter and it won't get worse. I don't understand why more people don't do that. There doesn't have to be snow on the ground, if a storm just passed and you still see white powder all over the road, that's not dirt, that's salt and it's still collecting on the bottom of your car. Once the snow's gone and the salt is dissipated, then I'll wash my car less often, but don't skip out of winter washes. And definitely make sure to get the underbody wash each time .
