What amazes me that those long dead old farts of the 60s could have come up with such timeless designs.
Hell, they didn't even have fancy computers! Just slide rules, sketching paper, and a big lump of clay.
I think drawing was an advantage for them. For the 80s and 90s car design was hobbled by computers

I think the really underrated stangs are the 95/05 style. I wanna find one with a blown V8 then find a .Mark Vlll and yank that 32 valve out. People want too much for Terminators.

If I had my choice

I think 94-95 Cobras are very underrated.

Right now, Fox Mustangs are a hot ticket, with clean, modified examples selling in the $10-20K range these days.

No way I would pay that these days, but decent 94-95 Cobras can still be had for around $5K. I'd scoop one of those up, build a nice 331/347 with a blower, and call it a day.

Computers don't design cars, they are just a tool that designers use to draw with (they still tend to draw by hand on the screen/tablet).

There's actually a new freedom in design that computer aided drawing has given us.

Computers help in producing the cars, and help in visualizing the cars, and help in flow dynamics and FEA, but they don't do any design work at all. You can't just walk up to a computer and tell it to spit you out a car design. lol.

Also, computer aided drafting and design work on cars was started in the '60s...

Always had a soft spot for the styling of the '77-'78 King Cobra.

Only halfway decent mustang that was made between '74-'82.

I think those are ugly and dated. The 99-04 look far more modern. The 10-14s look good, and the 12s look more like the 69/70 yet updated. I thought the 05/6 were ugly back then. Just like the Charger and 300.

The 64-70 are the only ones I think look better as coupes/notchback, than fastback/hatch style.

My favorites are:
71-3 fastback
74-8 hatchback
79-86 hatchback
99-04 fastback
And the 12-15 fastbacks arwn't bad either.

In comparison to the Camaro:
84-88 fastback
15-16

I think the 1994 - 1997 Camaros were one of the prettiest cars ever made.

Then they toyotaed them up and could not understand why they did not sell.
