I have a strong feeling that this never actually happened.

Few guys at the gun range said they had been asked if they had a weapon in my state if your asked you have to inform them you have a weapon and it went about like this guy said no searching but they asked the guy to get out of the vehicle and stand off the the side while the officer retrieved the weapon a SN# search against stolen gun database was done and he was sent on his way. Last time i was pulled over was about 25 years ago I'm not a grandpa driver seem to get lucky.

If they asked I would tell them and comply with what ever they want to do. My feeling is why raise the tension if you don't have to I always keep my hands on the wheel and my registration is in a easy to get to place in a pouch no need to dig around in glove boxes along with registration.
this is also a proper way to handle things. in arizona you dont need a concealed carry permit as long as you are a law abiding citizen and live in arizona. one can carry concealed just about anywhere permit holders can, with a few exceptions.

Well .. it should, for the most part, be how people should act if stopped by an officer of the law in my humble opinion - whether or not this particular story is real or even if real belongs to the OP at all. Normally I am not that thrilled when I find out that a post/poster is a 'fake scenario' but this time I think I will let that pass - because there is a good lesson/message here.

Why not? I am a very boring old man with nothing to hide. Search if you want. Now that would give me something to talk about.

can you share your interpretation of this so called lesson?

IMHO- its a contrived story plain and simple.
