I use TireRack pretty exclusively now. They have the greatest selection and the reviews are accurate.

I don't know your Civic but I went to their site and plugged in 2014 Civic and it returned 155 different tires. That gives quite a selection based on your driving needs and price range. Shipping was $65 but on $253 for the 4 tires, take off $43 for now tax and it's really $22 more.

It must be cheaper for different model of cars, I have a minivan and a few full size Chevy trucks. The tire sizes are very common and relatively inexpensive. If I look up the same Michelin tires for my truck as I have on them from my mechanic they are around $15 a tire more plus shipping of $33. That is almost $200 more to use them over my mechanic plus that included installation.

If you're near one of TireRack's distribution centers, you can pick up and avoid paying shipping. I did so recently and between no shipping and an $80 rebate, I saved upwards of $50/tire vs the local shops. TiresPlus installed them-- and disposed of my old tires-- for around $60 total.

Well, actually, no. Most shops give the tire/wheel assembly one spin, put on weights as indicated, and quit at that. I have a friend with mount/balance machines he lets me use, generally I spin up about 3-4 times to get balance to +/- 4 grams. As in 4/28ths of an ounce. You are lucky if the chain tire shops get you within a half-ounce. Of course for the typical urbanista who seldom can go over 45-50 MPH, a half-ounce is good enough.

Generally I buy tires from Tire Rack. They are reliable, price is good if not the best out there, they provide a lot of online information, so I tend to do business with them.

I bought from them long time ago and they were good. I go to costco now - they are like $20 more but comes with lifetime balancing and tire rotations and flat tire.

I always start at TireRack for reviews if nothing else. Then compare to local prices. There are often "Black Friday" deals at tire shops this time of year that can beat their prices. Even if it's in the form of a prepaid visa rebate or some nonsense.

I have ordered from them in the past and gotten it delivered to tire shops for installation no problem. Very hassle free process.

You found the new building they went into a few blocks from my house! I've bought two sets recently and saved the shipping by picking up at warehouse, the overall price of tire was less on both sets. Mounting and road force balancing cost me $160 for one set though.

I've been using Tirerack for about the past 20 years. I've purchased tires, wheels and brakes parts from them. I suggest you shop around locally and other online store for pricing. Depending on the tires, tirerack or other online retailer doesn't always have the lowest overall price.

Just for example, my last few tires purchases were not from tirerack. Discount tires on Ebay usually have promotions that have better deal than tirerack. There are times when local BJs or Costco will have better deal as well.
