I want to change my 4 tires for Honda civic. A friend recommend me to order them from tirerack.com.

Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels

Anyone used this website before? Is it reliable?

If so, is it better to order and ship them to the dealer on the list or ship them to your own home? I mean are the dealers on their list reliable?

Thanks!

Yes, I did long time ago though. AT that time they didn't have the option to send to the dealer so I sent them to my home that took them to sams club to get them installed. I was happy with the purchase.

Many times, almost all of the time I had them shipped directly to who was going to do the installation.

There are other sites that don't charge shipping, one is summit racing. The price maybe a little higher but tire rack charges alot in shipping unless they changed.

I had a difficult time finding someone that would put them on for me - ended up
having to go to Walmart. It was cheap but the trade off was it took them hours to complete & waiting for hours in a Walmart was not fun.

I don't understand how the tires are cheaper, is it because of the cars you drive. They are $40 a tire more with the shipping. The price per tire is even more than the local shops.

I've used TireRack twice now and had good experiences both times. I am a pretty thorough price comparison shopper and found their prices to be the best (internet and local) both times. 4 Michelin's cost me at total of $73.50 in Shipping charges and I had PepBoys put them on. Price was best and process was simple and straightforward.

Yes, I have used them before for good snow tires (Goodyear Ultragrip Ice). I purchased 4 snow tires from them, along with 4 steel rims and 4 cheap plastic hubcaps and had them shipped to my local shop (Flynn's), which mounted, balanced and installed them. No problems, everything went well, and I was content with the overall price, although the overall package was probably $1k.

Tirerack is very reliable and a huge company. You need to get the mounted by someone of course. Don't go to Walmart of some horrible place! Geez!!! We are talking about tires and safety. I have purchased tires from them many times. I have a better connection now though. Sometimes local tires shops are pretty good as well. I don't use them though because I have an in. Good luck.
