Over the weekend I spotted two: a double gravel truck — in pink, no less!; and another 911 targa, but the old one.

Those old 911s, they sure are small.

Hey, I just checked quickly on their prices and they’re north of $110K. Not exactly in my budget.

Don’t know your budget, but on autotrader there’s tons of them below $100k in the 991.1. Here’s a 991.2 for $100k in your state, will be certified I’m assuming. I’d only buy one certified from Porsche dealer.

I saw an early '90's Toyota Corolla station wagon, being driven by what I assume was a handyman. It was beat to hell, full of junk, and has a ladder strapped to the roof. Hadn't seen one in so long I'd forgotten they ever existed, straight out of a time warp. Some vintage Toyota reliability right there...

I saw a relatively unmolested '65 GTO.

We’ll see. If I ever get one, you’ll be the first here to know!

More:

A car costing 'below $100K' would still be much much more expensive than any other car I've bought. It'd be hard to justify and not likely to happen.

(BTW, my Porsche 356 might be worth around that much, maybe more even. But while it was a little pricey when purchased over 20 years ago, I had no idea that its value would climb so crazily high. That value is a "fad", and I expect that value to be dropping in the (perhaps near) future. But I wouldn't sell it. My wife and I enjoy driving it too much.)

Sitting outside in the work parking lot is a good looking 280Z, the old original one that looks about like a 240. Green repaint, decent but not great paint. Back when Datsun (Nissan) made interesting cars, not just econoboxes with CVT trannies and buzzy little 4-pot engines.

Yeah, the eponymous M car, I bought around 2002, because I wanted one and it was reasonably priced considering condition. It's now worth at least 3X what I paid for it. If I had any idea, I would have bought at least 2 of them. You ain't touching a good, no stories M3 (real M3, E30) for under say 30K right now.

Nice M3 E30 there, Mitch. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

OK, last weekend I was down in LA and San Diego. My brother lives down there and we did a driving tour that included Beverly Hills. The cars there, wow. I snapped a few pictures, here they are...

I would've included pics of some of the ladies I saw, but my wife would've killed me and broken my lens. Sorry guys.
