I calmed down when things returned to normal a few minutes later. An Audi TT came along playing lane ping pong cutting right in front of people and never used his signal once. Things returned to normal and all was right with the world. For a moment, I thought I had entered an alternate universe.
The Audi thing reminds me of a moment I had in summer ‘18. Took the kids to the Perot in Dallas. It was summer vacay, so of course parking was far away. Walking the 1/4 mile or so to the museum, there’s a gloriously cruddy, gravel-shot, well-enjoyed street-parked R8. I wanted to leave the guy a congratulatory note. R8 is the right exotic car to be a daily-driven, all-the-right-kinds-of-dirty, street parked machine.

Saw a Lamborghini parked in my neighborhood last week. Most of the homes probably cost less than the car.

Yesterday in Ontario we toured the Thousand Islands. Beautiful! All the boat owners are pulling their boats from the water, to prep for winter.

This one caught my eye — attached, and also on imgur, https://imgur.com/a/jZkJwFK.

Friday on the way home I was coming up the hill a few blocks from the house and was behind an white Aston Martin dB9. Then I saw that in front of him was a black Maserati Ghibli. I thought maybe they were friends going to a show or something but the Ghibli turned off into a neighborhood, and the db9 turned into a driveway a couple of blocks from my house.

Lowered Mustang, and lowered Challenger when I was out on my daily walk with my dogs. Both loud exhaust and stick shift. Both quite a bit of throttle but not full throttle. Stick V8's were a rare bird when I was young, I missed out.

On Sunday, we went to an estate sale a few houses down from us. In the garage/shop building there was a 1960 Chrysler New Yorker. The seller said that it hasn't been regularly driven since 1972, hasn't been started since 1982. Might be a nice car under all of the dust and dirt, if you like those Batmobile-looking land yachts of the "Perry Mason" era.

Yesterday, a 1964 Buick Skylark convertible — clean and nice. But the weather here is good, sunny and not chilly, so why not top-down?

Are you sure it wasn’t a 1963 Pontiac Tempest?
